We offer award-winning memory care programs.

LiveWell’s award-winning memory care programs are created by an experienced, licensed team of Alzheimer professionals. In particular, our structured, individualized care plans (which are based on familiar interests and personal strengths), have shown to reduce many of the memory care associated behavioral symptoms, such as agitation, anger, frustration, depression, wandering and rummaging.

LiveWell’s dementia care residents engage in therapeutic activities that cue them to old and recent memories, maximizing their current skills and minimizing the impact of skills that may be compromised. Our programs are intentionally designed to bring out each resident’s existing skills, memories and habits, and encourage friendship, mutual support and connectedness.

To establish and maintain a sense of stability for our residents, our memory care team collaborates with each resident to ensure that care plan activities are done regularly and occur at the same time every day. One of the important keys to LiveWell’s memory care management success is our 1:3 staff to resident ratio (1 staff member for every 3 residents), a ratio that is well below the state’s memory care requirement of 1:8. Our low staffing ratio ensures that your loved one receives the personal care, encouragement and support they need to live the fullest live possible in one of our beautiful homes.

Examples of Memory Care Activities include:

  • Wellness Gardening and/or Nature Walks= Connects residents with nature, facilitates exercise, reduces stress and normalizes sleep/wake cycles.
  • Creative Arts= Residents are cued to pleasurable memories by creating “coffee table” books that are made from family photos.
  • Music Therapy = Residents are cued to earlier memories by listening to their favorite music.
  • Cooking Class= Caregivers assist residents in making simple recipes.
